But first, a word of caution.
These tactics will appear straightforward.
In reality, it’s far too easy.
As a result, many of you will read this post and then do nothing in response.
This irritates me.
Grrrrrrrrrrr.
These enormous, extensive postings aren’t only for your entertainment!
I write these pieces so you may walk away… IMPLEMENT… and experience instant results in your business.
These easy tactics might help you increase your blog right now.
Take note of what I said today. RIGHT NOW, for example.
Tomorrow is not the day.
Not when you have a lot of “spare” time on your hands.
Not until you’ve done your research and read another article.
Alternatively, you might take a different course.
You’ll get some very precise action actions that you can put into action on your blog RIGHT NOW.
Do not postpone it till tomorrow.
Promise me right now that you’ll put at least ONE of the methods listed below into action as soon as you finish reading this blog article.
Otherwise, you must depart immediately.
Seriously, if you’re not going to act, quit this site right now and go do something else.
I only want to work with those who are willing to take action.
Do you think so?
Are you willing to put in only 10 minutes of effort?
Do you have ten minutes to develop your business?
Cool.
You’re the one I’d like to speak with.
The one who will truly put this information to good use.
You promised yourself that you would do ONE step today to increase your subscriber list.
So, now that we’ve made that promise, let’s get started…
1. Pop-Ups.
Pop-ups… Probably the most contentious list-building technique in Internet history.
Popups, whether you like them or not, are effective.
In fact, at BuzzBlogger.com, they’re the second most effective technique for growing our subscriber base.
4.2 percent of our blog visitors have become subscribers.
It’s not bad.
Now it’s up to you to determine whether or not you want to use a pop-up on your site.
It’s all up to you.
All I want to do is tell you what works.
If your blog is only a pastime. Or maybe you just want to keep a notebook and share intriguing ideas with your family and friends.
You won’t need a pop-up then.
Simply share whatever you have for free and have a good time.
That’s why we have hobbies.
However, if you’re running a legitimate web company…
Alternatively, if you want to transform your blog into a legitimate company, you’ll need to start collecting email addresses.
You’ll need to start cultivating a more intimate relationship with your tribe.
And pop-ups are one of the best methods to turn casual surfers into subscribers.
Install SumoMe and configure your pop-up to display 5–10 seconds after a visitor visits on your website. Time to complete: 5-10 minutes
Go ahead and do it!
Stop treating your company as a pastime.
Go for it.

2. Mat of Welcome
This method of list development has been reported to double the number of daily subscribers.
The Welcome Mat is what it’s called.
It’s a full-screen call to action that shows when someone visits your website for the first time.
Check it out in action:

3. Upgrades to the content
We started utilizing them last year, and they rapidly became our go-to method for growing our mailing list.
Even outperforming the all-powerful pop-up
Many of you are undoubtedly already aware with the concept of content upgrades.
But, just in case… let me give you a brief rundown.
So. Assume you’re reading an article titled “2015’s Top 50 Quick & Easy Recipes.”
The post is about 4,000 words long and jam-packed with some of the year’s greatest dishes. Each one has only ten or less components.
You’re a busy mom trying to feed a hungry family, but you don’t have much time in the kitchen as a working mother.
As a result, this is an excellent reference item that you should print or pin to your refrigerator!
Fortunately, the clever blogger who developed this blog provides you with a PDF version of the post that you may have emailed to your email.
Because you’re short on time, you click the link, opt-in, and it’s waiting in your inbox.
This ONE technique is responsible for converting 7-10% of visitors into subscribers.
If you can only implement ONE approach, make it this one.
backlinko content improvements – email list building techniques
The “lead magnet” is directly tied to the issue they’re already reading about, which makes this method extremely effective.
The following are some examples of content updates that function very well:
* A PDF version of the blog article is available. This is especially useful for entries that are 1,000 words or more. Because many individuals just want to save the text as a reference guide. This has been one of the most interesting times of my life.
These are the content enhancements that convert the best.
It’s also the most straightforward. If you’re pressed for time. This one takes 10–15 minutes to implement.
Don’t take anything for granted. Follow your instincts!
* Make a checklist. Make a checklist or cheat sheet out of your blog post for them to use as a fast reference.
* The use of scripts. If you’re teaching people how to contact important bloggers, you might provide 3-5 email scripts. This might also be used to the dating industry.
* Grocery lists, meal plans, and recipes If you run a website dedicated to fitness, nutrition, or cooking, this is an excellent content addition. At the bottom of each recipe, provide a meal plan. Or at the end of a fitness piece, recipes.
* Includes a bonus video. People enjoy reading. A video, on the other hand, might often provide greater value. Include a video tutorial that demonstrates how to perform anything from your blog article step by step.
* Suggestions This is what I refer to as the two-part piece. Simply offer them more of the same in your content upgrade if you’re authoring a list article. For instance, suppose I had a blog article titled “10 Ways to Increase Blog Traffic.” “Part 2 – 10 More Ways to Increase Your Blog Traffic” is something I could do.
It’s straightforward. It is, however, a no-brainer. If your audience liked what they just read, keep it up. It’s only natural for them to desire more of the same after that.
* Written transcripts. You may offer away a PDF version of the transcript in return for a name and email address if you do podcasts or audio interviews. At SuperFastBusiness.com, James Shcramko does an excellent job doing this.
Extra Tip: This is the type of blog article that would be ideal for promoting on Facebook. Increasing the number of people who see your material by hundreds. Increasing the number of people who have signed up for your newsletter. At the same time, you’re building a big retargeting list.
These are what I refer to as “Hybrid” Facebook Ads.
They also allow you to use Facebook to promote some of your greatest material while remaining cool and expanding your subscriber base.
Item for Action:
So, here’s what I’d want you to do right now…
* Locate your blog’s most popular page. In Google Analytics, you can observe which sites are receiving the most traffic.
* Create a resource that complements your blog content and adds value. This might be a checklist, template, bonus video, or even a PDF of the blog article itself.
* Now go ahead and make that resource. Set a 30-minute deadline for yourself.
* Add your new lead magnet to that page as a “content update.” At the beginning and bottom of each post, I like to include a yellow box. That has shown to be really effective for us.
* Increase the number of email subscribers! It’s as easy as that.
Spend $5–10 every day marketing that post on Facebook if you want to add a little more fuel to the fire.
This enables you to begin building a permanent traffic generator that creates leads on autopilot every day.
4. Welcome Page
The Welcome Page differs from the Welcome Mat in a few ways.
Both are, nevertheless, quite effective.
The “Welcome Mat” appears only once in most cases.
The Welcome Page is a unique home page that focuses on the opt-in rather than your most recent blog entries.
The greatest approaches to develop your email list are to design a welcome page.
5. Sidebar that is sticky.
You’ve undoubtedly seen a couple of those flashy floating sidebars if you’ve been online for a while.
They’re the ones that “follow you” down the page.
This helps you to make the most of your valuable sidebar real estate while your visitors navigate through extensive, in-depth content.
Furthermore, they attract your readers’ attention and have a better click-through rate than static sidebar components. The ideal location for a two-step optin box. Or, as we’ll see below, the “Image Optin.”
6. Video Opt-Ins
It is a type of opt-in that allows you to watch a video exit.
Okay, here’s a story for you.
Some of you may be aware that my father has a thriving membership site in the “Walking Horse” market, with almost 600 paying members.
He also employed one basic approach to get his first 1,000 members when he initially began his website.
Video Opt-Ins are a type of opt-in that allows you to watch a
Every week, he’d go to local horse shows and top training barns to shoot the up and coming two-year-olds. Each of these movies would then be uploaded to his YouTube channel and posted on his blog.
Then, thanks to LeadPlayer’s wizardry, an opt-in box would appear “within” the video at the conclusion.
He grew his first 1,000 members via forum marketing and this easy method.
It’s a little insane.
You may, however, do the same thing with YOUR videos.
The LeadPlayer plugin, unfortunately, is no longer being developed.
But…
There are a number of excellent choices.
The Wistia Turnstile is my favorite solution.
You may also use a program like Easy Video Suite to include opt-in boxes at the beginning, middle, and finish of your films.
7. Image Optins
Here’s one I’ve only seen a few savvy marketers employ.
They’re comparable to “leadboxes,” but they’re a little different.
You’ll use your blog’s sidebar to attract more subscribers with this method.
Instead of a large, unsightly opt-in box, we’ll utilize a lovely image with a two-step opt-in.
So the pop-up isn’t shown till the visitor clicks the image in your sidebar.
Let’s have a look at it in action…
How to construct an email list using an image optin
8. Optimize the information on your about page.
Your home page, your “about me” page, and your “Start Here” page are among the most popular pages on your site, according to your statistics.
So why aren’t you optimizing these sites and inviting those people to join your tribe?
You’ll immediately start adding more individuals to your subscriber list by adding an opt-in box (or 2-step opt-in graphics) to these high-traffic sites.
In fact, Pat Flynn stated that adding an opt-in box to his “About” Page raised his subscriber count by 446 percent.
Here’s a video of it in action.
Log into your Google Analytics account and see which pages receive the most traffic. On certain sites, provide an opt-in box. Add a content upgrade with a lead magnet that is immediately relevant to the topic they’re already interested in, or even better, add a content upgrade with a lead magnet that is directly related to the topic they’re already interested in.
9. The Incentive Connection.
Your menu bar links are among the most often visited on your blog. So why not choose wisely which links to include?
A Home Page link is one of the criteria here. Page for contacting us. Page to Begin. You may also provide a “Incentive Link,” as I call it.
A link that provides something especially unique to your reader.
People should be enticed to click through by the link text.
Here are a few examples:

Put this link in your “menu,” and then send them to a basic landing page where they can obtain your free report in return for their name and email address.
It’s a simple adjustment.
Conversions have increased.
More people are becoming subscribers.
10. Box with a header.
This is commonly known as a “Feature Box.”
It’s just a box at the top of your blog where people can sign up for your mailing list.
But, despite its simplicity, don’t underestimate its power!
Some of the most prominent blogs on the internet are presently using it to expand their subscriber lists.
Examples:
Blogs’ header box
If you want to easily integrate this feature on your own blog, you may use the Plugmatter Feature Box plugin, which is available for free.
11. Pixel retargeting
You may use retargeting to improve the experience of EVERY visitor that visits your site.
It accomplishes this by letting you to attract back visitors who did not convert on their initial visit to your website.
List-building tactics using retargeting pixels
You only need to add a short bit of code to your website to do this.
Tracking Code Manager is a plugin that makes it simple.

You can run advertisements on these sites once you’ve built up your “retargeting pool.”
To bring users back to your website, use Facebook. I suggest noting out

That way, you’ll be able to form long-term bonds with your tribe.
and establish a never-ending supply of traffic
12. CTAs that are clever.
It’s at this point that things start to become interesting…
What if you could provide a distinct experience to your visitors depending on whether or not they had previously subscribed?
What if you could customize pop-ups and sidebars for individual blog posts?
What if you could display new visitors different widgets than returning ones?
Well, now there are various WordPress plugins that may help you accomplish just that!
Visitor Logic Pro and Thrive Leads are two of my favorites.
Let’s start with a brief overview of Visitor Logic Pro.
This enables you to serve up various material to your visitors depending on their actions.
As an example…
You may present a product offer in the sidebar instead of an opt-in box if your visitor is already connected to your list.
If the visitor has already purchased your front-end offer, you can display a banner in the sidebar promoting one of your higher-priced goods.
Taking customers through your funnel in a natural way and personalizing their experience depending on their previous purchase habits.
You may also establish “behavior-based” scarcity based on a specific number of visits or a specific calendar span.
If you’d like to learn more about Visitor Logic Pro’s capabilities, go here for a complete feature list.
Thrive Leads is another plugin that just added a similar functionality.
Thrive Leads is one of the finest WordPress plugins for gathering subscribers on your site using pop-up boxes, screen-fillers, opt-in boxes, header bars, and other methods.
* On a page-by-page basis, Thrive Leads allows you to design unique popup boxes (and particular opt-in boxes). VERY STRONG.
They’ve also developed a function called “Thrive Smartlinks.”
You may now construct a “Smarter” website with this new functionality.
New visitors are shown different material than those who have already subscribed.
Allowing you to provide far more relevant offers to your visitors based on their prior behavior.
As a result, you may display your pop-up as well as an opt-in box in the sidebar for new visitors.
Visitors who are already subscribers, on the other hand, will see a banner for your most popular product. Alternatively, an affiliate marketing. You may then include a comparable banner advertising the same product at the footer of your post.
Rather than promoting the SAME opt-in (to which they have previously subscribed), you may drive them farther down the funnel with a personalized offer for one of your own goods (or affiliate offers).
As a result, you’ll be able to make more money from your existing members.
But, more crucially, it enables you to provide each of your consumers with a unique experience. Providing consumers with a one-of-a-kind experience based on their internet activities and purchase habits.
It’s really cool!
And it’s something I expect to see a lot more of in the future.

And either the pop-up or the welcome mat should be installed on your blog.
