Method 1: Using iTunes.

Step #3: Now, in this step, you are required to add the file which you have obtained in step #2 to the iTunes library. In order to do so, you are required to launch iTunes. After that, you have to click on the “File” tab which is usually located at the top left corner of the iTunes screen.

After clicking on it, a contextual menu will open. From this menu, you have to select “Add File to Library”. After this, you will have to browse for the file which you have located in step #2. There might be a case that the desired file is in some other format. So, you might need to convert the file into a mp3 one. So, make sure to take care of this.

Step #4: Ringtones are meant to be played for a short span of time. Typically, the ringtones should be of 40 seconds or less. So, make sure to take a note of the segment from where you want to start the ringtone and the end section where you want to stop the ringtone.

Once you are done with the same, then you are required to navigate to the audio file which you have just added to the library in Step #3. Once you have located the audio file, then you have to make a right-click on it and click on the “Get Info” option from the menu which follows up. This will open a new window for you. Step #5: In the window, you have to click on the Options” tab. By clicking on it, you will see a Start time and Stop time filed. In the fields, you will have to enter the corresponding details.

In the meanwhile, don’t forget to check on the check box before the start time and stop time fields. Also, in order to be more specific, you can be more precise of the segments timings. The moment you are done with the mentioned then you will have to click on the “OK” button.

Step #6: Now, you can also test your ringtone whether it the segment is fine or not. If it’s all good, then you can proceed further. After this, you are required to right click on the file and then select the “Create AAC version” option from the menu. This will lead to the creation of a new file in the library, and this is what we require.

Step #7: Now, in this step you are required to right-click on the new file and the select “Show in Windows Explore (in case of Windows) or View in Finder (in case of MAC).”

Step #8: In the Previous step opened the respective folder which contains your file. In this step, we are concerned with the extension of the file which we have created. In order to see the extension of the file, you have to check on the checkbox corresponding to the “File name extensions” (in case of window 10 and 8) and if you are using Windows 7 then you will have to click on view tab and then uncheck the checkbox corresponding to the “Hide extensions for known file types” option.

This will show the extension of the file.

Step #9: In this step, you have to rename the file extension. In order to do so, you are required to right click on the file and then click on the Rename option. After this, you need to change the extension “m4a” to “m4r”. You will be prompted to confirm your action. Just do it and move to the next step.

Step #10: You are now required to delete the segment file from the iTunes library but make sure to keep it safe in your system. After this, you will have to load the m4r file to the iTunes library. The steps are similar as in Step #3.

Step #11: Now, you have to sync your iPhone to the system. Now, in the ringtone section, you will see your desired ringtone. Now, you can set it as your ringtone.

Method 2: Using iTunes store.
