How To Get Coordinates On Google Maps:

You can’t only find GPS coordinates on google maps. In fact, GPS coordinates can be found on an iPhone, Android, and on Bing maps. But we won’t be focusing on them on this guide.

This article is meant to teach you how to find coordinates on google maps. There are multiple methods you can find google coordinates and steps in all the methods are extremely easy.

Method 1:

Step 1. The first step in finding out the Google coordinates is to search for what are my GPS coordinates on Google.

Step 2. Now click on the very first link i.e. WhatsMyGPS.com. This is one of the easiest ways to find out the Google coordinates. All you need to require to know is your location. The rest is done by the website itself.

Step 3. Once you have landed on the homepage of the website, you will see a red box in the left pane, where empty fields for latitude and longitude are given. This is where we will get our desired results as per the location of our choice.

Below that red box, a field for finding this location is given. This is the field where we need to enter our location to find the coordinates. The right area of the homepage is allocated to the map itself.

This is the most important portion as we will be locating our address on this map. The homepage overall looks like the below screenshot!

Step 4. The working of the website is really simple. Just locate your desired address by using the Zoom option. Or else, simply write your address in the search field at the left bottom and click the Find This Location button.

As sooner you press the Find This Location button, your desired location will be highlighted on the map.

To get the exact location, you use the Zoom option or the wheel button of your mouse. Once the location is marked, the empty field on the left will start showing results with the exact latitude and longitude.

As you will change the location of the marker on the map, the coordinates will keep updating themselves.

This is yet another easy method for finding out the Google Coordinates. Let’s see how.

Step 1. To use this method, you need to go to the official Google maps website. For this, either make a search for Google maps on Google search or go to https://www.google.co.in/maps.

Step 2. Once you are on the google maps home page, search for the address you want to find the coordinates of. The search box is there on the top left of the homepage.

Step 3. On making the search, Google will try to locate your location on the map. You use zoom or mouse wheel to find the exact location. Once the location has been found on the map, just click there.

When the location pointer appears, have a look at the below box just appeared. The box contains the name of the location alongside the latitude and longitude of that location.

The steps for this method are also quite similar to the above two methods. Let’s find out how it works. This method won’t only let you know the latitude and longitude of your location but also you will get to know the altitude/elevation above sea level.

The steps are given below.

Step 1. First of all, open any suitable web browser and visit the URL http://www.maps.ie/coordinates.html. You will land on a page similar to the below screenshot.

Step 2. There are two ways you can find the coordinates of a location. The first method is by finding the location using the zoom and mouse wheel button.

And the second method is simply to write down the location in the Search field and press the Show Location button.

Step 3. As soon as you click the Show Location Button, a resulting pop-up box will start appearing just above the location you specified. the results will look exactly similar to the below screenshot.

As you can see in the above screen, the pop-up box contains all the necessary information about the location including its longitude, latitude, and altitude from the sea level.
