Step 3: After filling up the rows and columns, select the area you want the scatter plot of. Check out the below screenshot if you don’t understand how the data should be selected.

Step 4: Now once you have selected the area and the data click on the Insert menu from the menu bar. After clicking on the insert menu you will see some options there like Column, Line, Pie, Bar, Area, Scatter and other charts. These are the various types of charts and graphs. You can select any of them if your requirement fits the need.
Like if you want a Pie chart then without thinking much select the Pie, similarly if you want the line chart or column chart select that. But as we are about to create a scatter plot we will need to go to the Scatter option.

In the above screen, I have titled three columns a day, months, and years and in the rows, I have put some random data. However, I have also mentioned the screenshot to make things easy for you but in case if you are still not able to get any step you can ask in the comment section.

If you want other than the above scatter plots click on the All Chart Types…. Once you click on the All Chart Types, a small window will be opened up. Look at the screenshot.
As you can see on the left side of the screen there are various types of charts appearing including the XY (Scatter). If you want to switch the scatter plot to any other chart select from the list and your chart type will be changed immediately. You can also manage the templates by clicking on the Manage Templates.
The above method I described and the screenshot I took was from Microsoft office 2007. If you are using Microsoft office 2003 then you might face a little difficulty in finding the option. However, both the versions are almost the same but in case if you are not able to find the option check out the below-mentioned steps.
Step 1: As mentioned in the above step, fill out the data you want to create a chart of.
Step 2: After you have entered the data in rows and columns select all of them by dragging over it. Once the data are selected click on the Insert menu from the top menu bar. That’s it.
