The Quest For Personal Mastery Review 2024: By Srikumar Rao (Is It Worth?)

If you’re looking to achieve personal mastery in 2024, then you’ve come to the right place.

The world has recently undergone some changes, and for the next few months, most of us will be spending more time at home.

Professor Srikumar Rao teaches the 45-day Personal Mastery course at Mind Valley, which can help you overcome limiting beliefs, boost your resilience, and develop a successful life.

As the founder of Hack Spirit, a blog on self-improvement and mindfulness, I am always looking for ways to improve my life.

When I learned about Professor Srikumar Rao’s course on unconventional methods for achieving personal mastery, I knew I had to take it.

I decided to give it a try and share my experience so that others considering taking the course can benefit from it. In my review, I will discuss what I liked about Personal Mastery, its weaknesses, and whether it’s worth enrolling in.

Who Is Srikumar S. Rao?

Srikumar S. Rao is a business school professor, speaker, and author. The world’s most popular MBA professor is Srikumar Rao.

Some of the courses he has taught have been among the highest-rated at some of the world’s top business schools, including London Business School and Columbia University.

The Quest for Personal Mastery by Srikumar Rao Review

The course now offers exclusive teachings by a renowned instructor.

In this course, you will learn how to achieve your goals, live a happier life through mindfulness, and become more resilient. You can get a glimpse of the instructor’s teaching style by checking out his TED talk below.

This will also give you a sneak peek at the course materials and an idea of what to expect in the Quest For Personal Mastery.

What Is Personal Mastery?

Its goal is to help you become aware of who you are, how you live, and where you’re going. The lessons are designed to be completed in 45 days.

You will watch between ten and twenty minutes of video every day.

These were once taught only by Columbia Business School, London Business School, and UC Berkeley MBA students.

Don’t Let The Overhyped Marketing Discourage You From Taking The Course

There might be a little bit of exaggeration on the sales page for Personal Mastery. Ultimately, it promises you both “extreme” happiness and “incredible” abundance.

My skepticism was no different from yours.

After hearing Srikumar Rao, all of that was gone. He is a down-to-earth person. He has a message for everyone, no matter where they are in life or who they are.

Comparing that to the sales page might surprise you. Don’t be worried if you aren’t thrilled with the sales page. We do our marketing that way.

It’s important to remember that you’re studying Srikumar Rao’s teachings.

Personal Mastery: What The Course Details

You’ll see the same structure in MindValley courses if you’ve ever taken them. You are given a short video to watch each day, along with an exercise to complete.

There are 45 days required for the course. There are about five to twenty videos in each series, so they are easy to fit into your daily routine.

Mindvalley courses are usually the best because you not only learn intellectually but also practically, which is the most efficient way to transform your life.

You can also join a Facebook group where other people can participate in the quest. Many people have discussed the lessons and trouble spots.

This group can provide some helpful insights.

What’s In The Course: The Modules

First, I will go over exactly what is in the Personal Mastery course before I discuss the positives and negatives of it. The modules are as follows:

1. Mental Models and How You Become What You Are

The first module aims to assist you in identifying the negative beliefs that are obstructing your happiness. Through this module, I realized that most of my emotional baggage was unnecessary, and it was my beliefs that had shaped my thoughts and actions.

I particularly enjoyed the emphasis placed on the significance of acknowledging reality as it is. While many people believe positive thinking is the key to happiness, it’s not productive or rational to ignore the harsh realities of life.

To construct a life that you truly love, it’s important to recognize and accept the difficult aspects of life rather than avoid them.

This module is crucial in helping you learn how to do that, and it will greatly influence your future work.

2. How To Win The Inner Game Of Happiness

The first module focused on surpassing limiting beliefs, and this module will continue that work. You will be introduced to some excellent mindfulness techniques that can be helpful in this process.

One of these techniques is the practice of gratitude. As you learned in Module 1, toxic beliefs can be eliminated by genuinely appreciating life as a whole.

Additionally, this module will cover goal-setting and provide valuable insights for those who are looking for direction and purpose. It contains some golden nuggets that can be useful to anyone who feels lost.

3. Your Future Depends On Thinking Big & Why Mindfulness Matters

This module is undoubtedly highly practical. By using mindfulness techniques, you can overcome setbacks, motivate others around you, and learn to accept and even embrace uncertainty.

Facing suffering and obstacles with an open mind will provide you with a deeper comprehension of the power of these experiences.

I find Rao’s approach to mindfulness inspiring and powerful. It focuses on building resilience and fearlessness.

I learned techniques that I can use in my everyday life, which gave me a lot of courage.

My Top Three Takeaways From Personal Mastery

Here are Takeaways from Personal Mastery

1. Don’t Be Quick To Label And Judge

One phrase that has been sticking with me From Rao is, “Good thing, bad thing, who knows?” This saying has had a profound impact on my life.

Instead of labeling things as “good” or “bad,” Rao suggests that we should not judge them. Instead, we should accept them and practice forgiveness.

By adopting this idea, we can stay in control of our emotions and reactions while also questioning our beliefs.

2. Invest In The Process, Not The Outcome

Rao’s teachings emphasize the importance of setting goals and intentions without compromising our happiness.

According to him, it’s equally important to welcome our actions and the journey we undertake to achieve those goals. Since we spend most of our lives on this journey, taking pride in how we live every day will lead to fulfillment regardless of the outcomes.

On the contrary, being content only after achieving a specific goal will result in unhappiness for most of our lives.

Unfortunately, the Western world is not familiar with this approach, as it focuses more on wanting things that we don’t have rather than appreciating what we already have and cherishing the present moment.

3. The lesson On Affirmations That Rao Taught Me Has Stuck With Me

Creating affirmations out of desperation and need can cause more harm than good, according to Srikumar Rao.

If you tell yourself that you can make $20,000 in 6 months from your online business from a place of desperation, you are less likely to believe it. If you fail to reach your destination, it could lead to stress and feelings of failure.

Instead, Rao suggests creating “action affirmations.” These affirmations are focused on your actions, which help you make progress and live in the present.

For instance, instead of saying, “I’ll make $20,000 from my online business in six months,” you could say, “I’ll post two blog posts daily to increase traffic to my site.”

This way, your focus is on the actions you will take rather than the outcome you desire.

While Law of Attraction practitioners and positivity activists recommend making “I am” statements like “I am rich” or “I am happy,” it’s important to believe them for them to be effective.

If you don’t believe them, they are worthless. Instead, focus on affirmations that help you focus on your actions and make progress toward your goals.

The Positives Of Personal Mastery:

Here are some positives of personal mastery:

1. The Lessons In This Book Will Change How You Think About A Lot Of Things

When Rao asks you questions about mental models, she will get you thinking about why you label things right or wrong, or good or bad, and why you should focus more on the present moment than on what you want to achieve.

2. He Communicates Profound Ideas That Change Lives

Self-development courses can often be confusing, as many self-proclaimed “gurus” use complicated jargon that makes it hard to understand their message.

However, Personal Mastery is different. Rama Rao, the instructor, is an excellent communicator who can explain complex ideas in an easy-to-understand way.

When you watch his lessons, you’ll find that every video is clear and makes perfect sense.

3. This Quest Is Something You Can Do With Other People

Unlike other self-study courses, this one isn’t for beginners. Rather, it combines the two. You can do it alone, or you can join thousands of other people on this 45-day quest.

This was an interesting podcast because you talked about overcoming challenges with others and encouraged each other to go beyond your limits.

4. Ask Srikumar Rao A Question

Yes, you read that correctly. For the quest, you’ll be able to watch 6 pre-recorded Q&A sessions in which he answers questions submitted by the class.

The Cons Of Personal Mastery:

Here are some cons of personal mastery:

1. Sometimes The Videos Are Too Short

There aren’t many videos you can access every day. Occasionally, I would have liked him to expand on certain topics in order to better understand them.

2. Make A Mental Commitment

To achieve maximum effectiveness, you must devote sufficient time to the exercise. It is recommended to complete it for at least 30-60 minutes every day.

Even on days when you don’t exercise much, you still need to commit to completing the rest of the lessons.

The upcoming lessons will focus on analyzing your progress from the first few lessons. Therefore, it is essential to commit to the entire program for optimal results.

3. A Willingness To Change Is Necessary

If you are not open-minded and not willing to change, this course may not be suitable for you.

People who believe that the world always works in a certain way may not agree with the teachings if they are closed-minded. The Quest For Personal Mastery is all about making positive changes in your life.

To do so, you must be willing to act and think differently. Some of the teachings might shock you.

If you are not ready to challenge your beliefs and way of viewing the world, this course may not benefit you much.

4. There May Be Some Resistance To Some Of The Lessons

Your reaction to Srikumar Rao’s views will depend on your level of openness.

His ideas may surprise you or enlighten you greatly. However, if you are content with your current life and don’t want to make any changes, then this course may not be suitable for you.

5. You Won’t See Immediate Results

It is common for people to expect that their lives will be dramatically transformed by the end of a course, but this is not the case. Real change takes time and consistent effort.

Simply completing a course will not guarantee lasting results. It is important to implement the lessons learned and gradually change your attitude and behavior.

By consistently practicing what you have learned over months or even years, you will build a solid foundation for a more empowered life. Remember that real change is a journey, not a destination.

Would You Like To Take This Course?

This course may not be suitable for everyone, as it requires an open mind to fully benefit from its teachings.

However, if you’re feeling lost and lacking direction in life, this course can help you focus on achieving your goals and uncover valuable insights along the way.

Additionally, if you’re feeling disillusioned and unhappy with the way your life is going, you may also find some golden nuggets of wisdom in this course.

You can gain the following benefits from taking Personal Mastery:

  • Know who you are and what you want out of life.
  • Recognize your limiting beliefs and challenge them.
  • Staying sane during times of hardship.
  • Forget about the past.
  • Stop judging other people and circumstances. Be compassionate and accepting instead.
  • Focus on the journey rather than living in the moment.
  • In order to achieve your goals, you must overcome obstacles
  • Get a better understanding of the other point of view by taking a step back.
  • Focus on what you have to do.
  • Be more mindful and stop overthinking.

What This Quest Can Help You Do?

You can accomplish a lot with the Quest For Personal Mastery, such as:

  • Improve your understanding of yourself.
  • Unstick yourself from beliefs and habits that are holding you back.
  • Keeping you sane when you’re struggling.
  • Don’t hold on to issues from the past.

  • Take a moment to be mindful.

You can accomplish so much more with this quest. Ultimately, you will have a much easier time in life, be happier with the way you live and what is happening in your life, and be able to make the most of every moment.

Who Will Benefit From This Quest?

The quest can be beneficial for anyone who is looking to experience personal growth.

If you are open to new ideas and willing to try out Srikumar Rao’s exercises on a daily basis, then this quest could have a positive impact on you.

To benefit from this quest, it is crucial to consider how each lesson applies to your life in general. However, on the Facebook page, a woman expressed her disappointment with Srikumar Rao when he talked about work on Days 11 and 12.

She was ready to quit, and when asked if she would continue if the rest of the course was intended for working people, she responded that she would not.

This was not the whole picture. It was all about taking something bad and turning it into something better and about how your actions impact other people.

The lessons Srikumar Rao taught are easily applicable to other aspects of your life as well.

Who Won’t Benefit From The Quest?

It is important to keep an open mind when undertaking a quest for knowledge. If you are unwilling to consider alternative perspectives, you will not benefit from the experience.

Even if you strongly believe that your current beliefs are true, they may not align with the reality of the world.

However, if you are overly defensive of your beliefs and become offended when challenged, this quest may not be suitable for you.

It is crucial to be willing to consider new ideas and engage in deep thinking, but if you are not, the experience may just frustrate you.

Additionally, if you have a fixed mindset that unhappiness is your destiny, it may be difficult for you to accept some of the concepts presented in this quest.

The Quest For Personal Mastery Can Help You Feel Better & Create A Better Life

I am convinced that this quest can assist you in feeling better about life and creating a better life.

In fact, as I previously stated, I will focus on one technique every month for a year to incorporate it into your lifestyle. Please note that each Mindvalley quest has a specific start date.

It would be ideal if it started immediately, but unfortunately, it doesn’t.

They insist on having a fixed start date for all students to facilitate better interaction with the community, similar to a traditional classroom setting where everyone begins at the same time and progresses at the same pace.

If you enroll after the start date, you will not be able to access previous sessions, and only you will be allowed to attend future ones.

However, I didn’t cover all aspects of The Quest For Personal Mastery in this review. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments section below, and I’ll respond as soon as possible.

Conclusion: The Quest For Personal Mastery Review 2024

As a result of taking this course, I was able to focus on my daily processes and actions, which helped me become more productive.

Additionally, I have learned to appreciate and accept what I have in life. Most of what I learned from this course is still in practice, and I consider that a success.

Therefore, I recommend this course if you want to bring a positive change to your life by adopting a different perspective. However, if you’re not ready to commit, this course might not be for you.
